Welcome to your adventure...

Welcome to Wander! As seen on The Cabin Land, The Spruce, Only in Washington, and Territory Supply. Voted Top Ten Cabins in Washington and Voted Top 50 Cabins in the U.S. Located 2.5 hours from Seattle and 1 hour from Vancouver BC, Wander A-Frame cabin blends the best of all worlds by offering a quiet place in the woods with proximity to major recreation. The cabin sits just a few minutes from Mt. Baker Highway in sleepy Maple Falls. Travel 45 minutes east along Mt. Baker Scenic Highway 542 (stop in Glacier for provisions) to find yourself nestled between Mt. Baker and Mt. Shuksan at the Mt. Baker ski area (home of the birth of snowboarding and world-renowned snowfall). In fact, Mt. Baker also enjoys the unofficially highest average annual snowfall of any resort in the world, with 641 inches. Traveling between Canada and the U.S take the easy route with the quieter Sumas border crossing situated 12 minutes north. Abbotsford, BC sits just minutes away where there’s always somewhere to explore. Vibrant Bellingham is located 25 minutes west, it’s chock full of breweries, award-winning restaurants, and boutique browsing.

The Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest is one of the most visited forests in the country. Located on the west side of the Cascades between the Canadian border and Mt. Rainier National Park, you will find glacier-covered peaks, spectacular mountain meadows, and old-growth forests rich in history and outdoor opportunities. Wander is located 20 minutes from the edge of the Mt. Baker Forest and 45-60 minutes from the Mt. Baker Ski Area.

Spring, summer, autumn, or winter - there are adventures for every season. From biking, hiking, bird watching, snow sports or just simply soaking in the quiet and the trees. See the seasonal guides and two recommended links from AllTrails and the Washington Trails Association for hiking the 90+ trails around the Mt. Baker Forest.

“Wow, what a nice A-Frame! We were blown away by the coziness of this place. It is in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by enough trees to give you your own private space. The hosts have thought of everything to make this a warm inviting space to relax and get away from it all. We are a family of four, Dad, Mom and two tall teens. At no point did we feel cramped for space in this A-Frame. There was plenty of headroom in every room for us 6+ footers. It's perfect in every way!” - James

Named after the wanderlust of adventurers, Wander is a memorable original 1969 A-frame cabin. Wander is tucked away on a 1/3 acre of land filled with old-growth trees, attracting birds (including the resident owl), and is home to a wide variety of native fauna. The property backs up onto public land that connects to the wild Columbia Basin. The private cabin has been lovingly restored in 2018-19. You get the quirky A frame feeling, but with a fully-appointed, modern home. The cabin is a cozy getaway for couples, with a queen bed tucked into the upper story. Or, you can easily sleep two couples as the new queen-sized (and comfortable!) sofa bed pops out in the living room. For groups, there are two snug twin beds also in the upper story. Wander sleeps 4 comfortably. You may also use the expansive deck for tents. RVs can pull up into the sizable parking spot.

Located in the center of outdoor wandering, you’re close to world-class snowboarding and skiing at Mt. Baker during the winter months. Year-round though you are never far (just far enough though) from a wide array of adventures. Hiking through the forests with trails for every level at Mt. Baker Fly fishing, rafting, and tubing along the Nooksack River. In Bellingham (30 mins) a favorite for laid-back wine tasting, shopping, and dining. Just across the Sumas border, a whole new country to explore, Canada - just 20 minutes away.

There is robust Wi-Fi in the cabin. Phone coverage is limited once you leave I-5 so we recommend you turn on your GPS before exiting the highway. There are a number of routes to the cabin, our favorite is the Mt. Baker Highway. Once you reach the cabin, you can access cell phone and text coverage via the wireless. Open communal sleeping loft with 3 beds - 1 Queen, 2 Twins (all topped with memory foam mattresses).

Twin beds are designed to be lightweight and movable that can be used separately or together - these beds can be used stacked together, separate for two sleepers or cozied together for a couple.
