Before and Afters

Finding the right pieces of furniture and decorations for Wanderer took most of our summer. Fortunately, we love to scour thrift shops, go to garage sales and find interesting new pieces online. There’s a balance of creating a space where guests feel at home, but not stuffing the cabin with too many nicknacks. As a minimalist less can be more.

We picked each item with care, talking through the purpose and how it added to the overall feel of Wanderer.

Here’s a before and after of the kitchen.

Before we began the renovations. Those upper cabinets closed in the space. The low cabinet to the left we almost removed but instead took out the doors and painted the cabinet white.

Here’s the after! We scaled the furniture to fit the space. The walls are a challenge.
